CULCHETH Jiu Jitsu Club has been given a £400 boost by the Warrington Neighbourhood Boards Community Fund.
The money has been earmarked for new mats and pads and will help the club go from strength to strength according to organiser Gary Knowles.
He thanked the Neighbourhood Board and Culcheth and Glazebury parish councillor Paul Campbell, who help obtain the grant.
The club operates on Sunday evenings at the Village Club in Wigshaw Lane.
Cllr Campbell said: ‘What Gary has been doing for the young people in the area has been amazing.
“When he approached me for help in raising funds it was a no brainer and working together with the Neighbourhood Board I am glad to say that the funds have been made available to allow the club to have the special equipment it needs to keep going.”
