Man in hospital after plunging from bridge

A MAN is in hospital with multiple injuries after plunging from a motorway bridge at Warrington.
The M62 between the Croft Interchange and Junction 9 at Winwick was closed for around 40 minutes after the incident this morning.
A man was airlifted to hospital from the scene.
A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “At around 9.50am Cheshire Police closed the east and westbound carriageways on the M62 while they dealt with an incident at Junction 9 involving a man on a footbridge.
“The motorway was closed for around 40 minutes and the man was taken to hospital with multiple injuries.
The motorway remained congested for some time after the incident.
The man’s condition in hospital is not known.
