PLANS to extend a residential care home at Westbrook, Warringon have been given the green light – despite objections from nearby householders.
They claimed the proposed develop would encourage residents of Woodleigh Residential Home, in Callands Road, to live at the rear of the property – overlooking the bedroom of their house in Newborough Close.
They also claimed the proposed roof of the extended care home would be out of character with the rest of the building.
The plans, but forward by Warrington Borough Council, were for four single-storey extensions, two for day rooms, one for a conservatory and one for an entrance foyer and office. They will enable the building to become a multi-purpose hub, improving service delivery and respite care provision for adults with learning disabilities.
Internal changes will result in 11 additional bedrooms
