The Brighter Futures team have been able to achieve this in two years after a number of services were brought together that offer support to young people, parents and families in returning to work.
The volunteers interviewed said: “It’s amazing what you are offered, what’s open to you.” and another said “my confidence shot through the roof”.
Executive board member for children and young people services, Cllr Jean Carter, said: “It’s great to see a team within the council being praised and awarded for the hard work that they do. The Brighter Futures service is a fantastic example of how a team can come together and reach their goals. My thanks go to all the volunteers who work alongside colleagues in the council to help people get back into work and help them develop promising careers and reach their full potential.”
