AN on-call firefighter recruitment day planned at Penketh, Warrington on Tuesday, November 4 has been cancelled because of the national strikes called by the Fire Brigades Union.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire Service said: “The decision is regrettable as we know how important the on-call recruitment day is, but the circumstances of the industrial action leave us with no alternative.”
Two other recruitment days are scheduled, both at the Market Car Park, Widnes.
They are on Friday, November 7 and Saturday, November 8, both from 10am to 3pm.
Anyone who would like to attend should call Sarlah on 01606 868451 or email [email protected] for full information.
New on-call firefighters are required for the new fire station to be built at Penketh.
