Investing in Lymm's energy future

0

OPPORTUNITIES to invest in Lymm’s energy future will be available through a new community venture, Lymm Community Energy (LCE), which is being established by Low Carbon Lymm in collaboration with Warrington Borough Council.
As a community benefit society, LCE will enable local people and organizations to invest in renewable energy installations that benefit the local community.
LCE will raise funds by issuing shares to investors who will then become members of the society.
The first projects will be solar photovoltaic (PV) systems fitted to community buildings. The occupants of the buildings will get lower cost energy, while the investors will get a return on their investment – and any surplus will fund community energy efficiency projects.
LCE aim’s to install systems on buildings that benefit as many community members as possible, such as schools, community centres, libraries, church halls and sports clubs.
They plan to open their first share offer early next year and for their first scheme to be operational by the spring.
Interested people can register their interest in investing in LCE by emailing [email protected] or by visiting the Low Carbon Lymm website. Alternatively they can call Richard Pearce on 01925 754480.
