An invitation to lunch

A NEW light lunch club has launched on Mondays at St Hilda’s Mission in Latchford, Warrington.
Local residents are invited to come along to the club, on Slater Street, for some healthy soups and sandwiches as well as the chance to have a chat with new friends and find out about what is going on in the community.
It will run every Monday from November 3 between 12-2pm.
The club has been set up by the borough council’s South Neighbourhood Team as a result of feedback received at local events which highlighted the need for a weekly club.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “I am delighted that this has been launched. It is really important that communities have the opportunity to get together and a light lunch will make an excellent reason to do so.
“Once established the club will ask members what they would like to see, whether this be guest speakers, bingo slots or exercise classes. A similar club in St Werburgh’s has gone from strength to strength and I have high hopes that the same will be true at St Hilda’s.”
