A CHESHIRE charity is offering £25,000 of investment to get people in the county moving.
Active Cheshire, based in Northwich, is celebrating its 25th anniversary by investing £25,000 into projects that create physical activity opportunities for people in Cheshire and Warrington.
The investment, split into one award of £15,000, one of £5,000 and five of £1,000, has been announced by Mark Greaves, the new Chair of Active Cheshire, who is marking the start of his term of office with this unique opportunity.
The fund is open to any individuals, groups or organisations who can demonstrate how they will deliver a sustainable project that gets people active long-term.. The more original the idea, the more chance it has of receiving investment.
Mark said: “This investment will create opportunities for people in Cheshire to get active and stay active, resulting in healthier communities that the county can be proud of. This is a unique opportunity and we welcome applications from all sectors.”
Applications are by a simple online form and a short video, which will be uploaded onto a specially created website. Shortlisted applications will be decided by public vote.
Anne Boyd, CEO of Active Cheshire, added: “Our goal is to get 50,000 more people, more active, more often by 2017 and we are confident this investment will have a big impact upon our target. We welcome applications from any groups, individuals or organisations who can demonstrate that they are able to embed physical activity habits for life into the residents of Cheshire.”
