WARRINGTON Town boss Shaun Reid says the club’s historic F.A Cup victory is the greatest achievement of his footballing career.
It has taken seven games over five rounds including two replays and beating three teams from higher divisions, for Warrington to make the first round proper for the first time in their 65 year history.
Reid, who played professionally for Rochdale, Bury and Preston and coached alongside his older brother and F.A Cup winner Peter at Plymouth Argyle, said: “When you take into account we have beaten three quality teams from leagues above us that is what you call a great achievement.
“It is the greatest achievement of my footballing career.
“I would love us to get a big club in the first round proper but I also wouldn’t mind playing one of my former clubs.
“But the most important thing is we are in the hat for the next round.”
But Reid said it was also important to get back to league action and start picking up points to make the play offs again like last season.
“Hopefully this great cup run will help kick start our league season,” he added.
Reid will be attending the draw at St George’s Park which is being screened live on BBC2 at 7pm tonight (Monday).
Meanwhile Warrington Town will be back in action in the league when they travel to play-off contenders Droylsden next Saturday, kick off 3pm.

Reid is pictured hugging goal scorer Lewis Field after the final whistle on Saturday.
