THIS Sunday (Oct 26) LiveWire is inviting local residents to celebrate the official opening of the award winning My Garden in Orford Park at 12.15pm.
My Garden, designed by LiveWire’s Park Keeper Alan Nugent, Long Lane Garden Centre and Golden Gates Housing is the latest edition to the park. The plot represents gardens typically found across Warrington and will demonstrate how anyone can create their own useful outdoor space. Within the feature there is; a shed, utility and seating area, lawn, water feature and a mix of flower beds and borders. The borders also include edible crops, promoting people to try and grow their own fruit and vegetables, enabling them to develop and maintain healthy eating habits on any budget.
After the garden has been revealed LiveWire’s Head Chef will be performing live healthy food demonstrations, giving handy advice and tips on how to whip up a good hearty meal for the family with fresh organic produce.
LiveWire’s Park Keeper Alan said: “I’m thrilled My Garden has been erected in Orford Park. Myself, and members of staff from Golden Gates Housing, Cheshire Probation Trust and Walton Lea Partnership worked really hard on the design. We wanted it to be placed where local residents can come and relax and take some inspirational ideas on what they can do in their own back garden. It was a great feeling winning the Silver award at this year’s Tatton Flower Show and I’m proud to show the garden off at Orford Park.”
