FOLLOWING the success of the first Move4Life programme, the council’s south area team is hosting another six weeks’ worth of free sessions.
Move4Life is a low intensity exercise course open to adults in the local area. This time, the team have taken on board comments from participants of the first programme and as a result, there are now even more activities on offer.
On Friday October 24, 10am-11.30am, the lifestyle programme will begin at St Werburgh’s Community Hub, Boswell Avenue. The sessions will last for one hour and will be followed by light refreshments.
The course begins with a session of Tai Chi, followed by classes in yoga, cooking and traditional games.
Cllr Kate Hannon (pictured), the council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture said: “We are delighted to welcome back Move4Life following the great success of the first programme. We hope that it will continue to boost physical activity amongst adults in the town and will also encourage more social interaction between participants.”
Cllr Pat Wright, lead member for health and wellbeing and adult services, said: “It’s fantastic to see that the team has taken feedback on board and added some new activities to the sessions too. I would urge as many local adults to come along to St Werburgh’s, meet new people and try out some new activities!”
To book a place on the course, contact Elaine or Jan at St Werburgh’s Community Hub on 01925 442565.
