WARRINGTON-based Fastflow Energy Services are one of only five contractors to win a place on a major framework agreement with National Grid.
The work relates to upgrading National Grid’s ageing transmission assets and is running over five years.
FES has already been selected by National Grid to undertake upgrading and diversion works on the gas transmission and distribution system as well as security improvement projects on both gas and electricity sites.
Neil Armstrong, owner and Chief Executive with the Fastflow Group, said: “This is great news for our business which, within two years of launching, has grown to exceed a £10 million turnover and employ over 100 people. We are delighted to have successfully completed a rigorous procurement process which will open up some very exciting opportunities for us whilst, at the same time, further reinforce our relationship with NG.”
Projects currently being carried out by FES include two diversions of a 42” gas pipeline to allow a new rail junction on the West Coast Main Line at Norton Bridge, Staffordshire; diverting around 610 metres of 4” main at Great Dunmow, Essex for the construction of houses, a school and other amenities and the replacement of overhead crossings at Shreding Green in Buckinghamshire.
In addition, the Lancaster diversion for National Grid and the sleeves and crossings project for Northern Gas Networks at various locations across Yorkshire have been completed on time and within budget.
FES, which operates from Golborne, is headed up by former Great Britain Rugby League forward Tony Cottrell. Also a veteran of the transmission pipeline industry, he has assembled a team of directors with over 80 years of relevant experience.
