Parish Council launches new guide to Lymm

LYMM Parish Council has launched a new Guide to Lymm containing a brief history of the village, a description of its main features and details of the festivals and events that are held each year.
The twelve page booklet has been compiled by last year’s chairman, Councillor Ian Marks.
Cllr Marks said, “Lymm has a great deal to offer visitors and I felt we needed a booklet that brought it all together. Its main purpose is to attract people to visit our village or to encourage people already here to stay for longer. The more people who visit and the longer they stay, the more likely they are to spend money and benefit our local shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. I hope it will also serve as a handy reference for local people who want to know more about our village.
My thanks to the Local History Society for providing source documents for some of the material, to the local Photographic Society for some of the photographs, to Lymm Life for printing and to everyone else who has contributed in some way.”
This year’s Chairman, Cllr Kath Buckley added, “l am delighted to promote this informative guide to Lymm and its history. I have found out some interesting and intriguing information about the village that l live in.”
Copies of the Guide will be put in outlets in Lymm where visitors are likely to go and in locations outside the village to tempt them to come to the village. Shortly it will also be available to download from the Parish Council’s website.
