A CANCER screening bus is to visit Appleton on Friday, October 24.
The iVan – a mobile cancer information and support vehicle staffed by a cancer specialist nurse and resource co-ordinator will be at Appleton Parish Hall, in Dudlow Green Road, between 1.30pm and 3.30pm’
The aim is to raise awareness of cancer prevention and recognition of skin changes, highlight the dangers of using sun beds and encourage people to attend cancer screening events.
Members of the public are invited to step aboard the bus to discuss their concerns with the iVan team and take away useful information leaflets.
Cllr Pat Wright, Warrington Borough Council’s lead member for health and wellbeing said: “It’s really important in the treatment of cancer that people do not delay in seeking diagnosis. I would urge all Appleton residents to take this opportunity to access free help and clinical expertise right on their doorstep.
“If you have any questions or concerns about symptoms and screening services around cancer, why not take this opportunity to go and visit the iVan.”
