Photos released of lorry crash which closed motorway

PHOTOGRAPHS have been released by Cheshire Fire service showing crews working to free a lorry driver trapped after a serious crash on the M62 yesterday, Monday, which resulted in all three lanes being closed, creating traffic chaos across Warrington.
The westbound carriageway near Burtonwood was closed while firefighters to rescue the man following the crash between two HGVs at around 11.10am.
The eastbound carriageway was also closed while an air ambulance landed but it was later confirmed the injured driver was transported by land ambulance.
The male driver sustained serious injuries following the crash but is now in a stable condition in hospital.
The motorway remained closed for eight hours until it was completely re-opened at 7pm causing lengthy delays across Warrington.
