Police issue e-fit following attempted sexual assault

POLICE have released an e-fit of a man they are seeking following an attempted sexual assault near Callands Road, Warrington last Monday (Sept 29) at approximately 5.30pm.
The victim ? a woman in her 20s – was walking her dog on a pathway off Callands Road when the incident took place.
She was approached by a man who attempted to sexually assault her. The man was bitten by her dog and subsequently fled the scene. It is believed that he sustained an injury to his hip as a result of the incident.
The offender was approximately 5’5″ tall, between 25-30 years old with a stocky build and brown eyes. He was wearing a black hooded top, tracksuit bottoms and had his face partially covered by his clothing.
DC Simon Fisher said: “We are appealing for information from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the incident or seen anyone acting suspiciously.
“The victim was left shaken by what had happened but was not injured. Fortunately the dog caused the offender to flee the scene before anything further took place.
“Anyone with any information is urged to contact Cheshire Police on 101.”
Police are now appealing for any information in relation to the incident.
