Reducing fear of crime is a top priority

REDUCING social isolation and fear of crime are among the top priorities set out by Warrington Borough Council’s neighbourhood team in their latest area plans.
The plans were launched at a special event at the Town Hall attended by local councillors, area board members, neighbourhood teams and council chief executive Prof Steven Broomhead.
The plans set out the neighbourhood team’s priorities for Warrington over the next three years and detail their steps for taking action.
Priorities are different for each area but include reducing social isolation and fear of crime, promoting health and wellbeing, maximising household income and reducing child poverty.
Cllr Kate Hannon, the council’s lead member for leisure, community and culture, said: “I am delighted to launch the neighbourhood plans and I appreciate the excellent work that our neighbourhood teams have delivered over their lifetime.
“In spite of increasing pressure on council budgets, we recognise the importance of developing our communities and value the enormous contribution of Warrington’s community volunteers who work in partnership with the area teams to develop active and resilient communities.”
Copies of the area plans can be found on the neighbourhood pages on the council’s website – www.warrington.gov.uk
