THE 4th annual Warrington Contemporary Arts Festival gets under way tonight with a “cultural crawl” starting at 6pm and calling in at the three main venues for the four-week festival.
Visual arts, photography, film, installation and contemporary dance will all feature in the festival, during which a selection of regional, national and international artists will be showcasing their work.
The three key venues are the Pyramid, Warrington Museum and Art Gallery and the Gallery at Bank Quay House but there will also be events at some other, unexpected town centre locations.
Theme of the festival this year is “about time” .
Now in its fourth year, the festival takes its theme this year as “time”, so whether work is concerned with sequence, memory, notions of heritage, the past, the present or the future, it’s all connected back to time.

*Artist Georgina Tee illustrating how we spend our time on town centre shop windows.
