A WARRINGTON mum who missed out on college because she needed major surgery on her spine is hoping to represent the town in next year’s World Beauty Queen contest.
Alex Cooper, aged 21, from Orford has a two-year-old son, Kai – and wants to prove that mums can still be beauty queens.
But she needs to find a sponsor to help her along the way.
Blonde Alex has already applied to enter the competition and hopes she will be chosen to represents the Warrington area.
The former William Beamont High School pupil never went on to college because she suffered from scoliosis – an abnormal curvature of the spine – and needed surgery to correct it.
She said: “There was a twist and curve in my spine, so they took the top half of my spine out and replaced it with titanium rods and sheep bone marrow.
“Now I’m a member of the Warrington Starlights Dance and Cheerleading School where I also teach.
“I hope I can represent Warrington in the contest as I really want to prove that mums can be beauty queens.”
Alex says if any firm or organisation will sponsor her she will be able to promote them by using their logo at any events she takes part in.
