BIKES are urgently needed for a sponsored spinathon taking place in Warrington to help raise funds in support of Cancer Rearch.
Warrington businessman Lee Birchall, aged 44, who runs Birchwood based DV8 Designs, has organised a charity spinathon in support of his dad Brian, aged 68, who was diagnosed with secondary liver cancer in October last year.
Lee has teamed up with Tracey Bold’s Pilates Studio on New Cut Lane, Woolston, who have agreed to stage the spinathon event – but they have run out of bikes, with at least 12 other people wanting to join the marathon effort.
Extra spin bikes are needed on loan for 24 hours, so more people can take part in the event which takes place on Saturday, October 4, from 8am – 4pm.
Lee said: “We have at least 12 people waiting to take part, but we don’t have enough bikes – and if more people can take part, we can raise more money.”
“We have done a fundraiser every year and with my dad not being so good, we thought this year we would do it for Cancer Research.”
Two teams will be competing in the event one led by Lee and the other by Joseph Lockley who is related to Tracey by marriage and attends the studio for spinning when he is not working!
Anyone who can donate a spin bike is asked to call Tracey on 07950 677 085.
