MORE than 2000 people attended a charity day out at Gulliver’s World to celebrate the Eid festival.
The trip was organised by Syria Relief to help families to celebrate Eid together, marking the end of a month of fasting with some theme park fun.
Manchester-based charity Syria Relief delivers humanitarian, medical and educational aids to people in Syria affected by the war. Its projects also help children recover from the suffering.
The Gulliver’s trip was one of Syria Relief’s regular social events, which aim to raise awareness and funds for the charity’smany projects – and organiser Dr Adel Moufti said a great time was had by all.
He said: “We spent a marvellous day at Gulliver’s celebrating Eid together. Families from all over the UK had the opportunity to meet and catch up, and the children had a great fun at the park.”
Sharon Blake from Gulliver’s said: “We were delighted to host such a fantastic family day out and help raise awareness and vital funds for Syria Relief, who do such an important job helping families in need overseas.”
Gulliver’s World, in Old Hall, has rides, attractions, play areas and entertainment on offer for children aged two to 13.
