LOCAL people are being invited along to and event at Warrington Hospital next week that will tell them more about one of the most common, but often debilitating, healthcare conditions.
Dr Abdel Salih, consultant rheumatologist at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, is leading the latest of the trust’s regular “Your Health” events which is all about arthritis.
Arthritis is a condition that causes pain and inflammation in a joint. In the UK, around 10 million people have arthritis and it affects people of all ages, including children.
Dr Salih will be talking about the types of arthritis, how it occurs and what can be done to help avoid and to treat the condition. There’s no cure, but there are many treatments provided at the hospital and in primary care that can help slow down the condition. This can involve drug based therapies and even surgery.
The talk takes place on Wednesday October 1 at 1pm in the education centre at Warrington Hospital and will last around an hour.
To book a place, email [email protected] or call 01925 664222. Booking is essential as places are limited and it allows the hospital to let people know if there are any last minute changes to the event due to clinical commitments.
