Toys and coffee for sale at new nursery

A HUGE sale of toys and play equipment takes place in Lymm on Saturday, (September 27) – with the money going to MacMillan Cancer Support.
The event – part of MacMillan’s annual “World’s Biggest Coffee Morning” initiative – will also offer parents to see what is on offer at the Holly Grange Montessori Nursey in Oughtrington Lane, next door to Lymm High School.
The nursery will be the first Montessori early years setting in the Warrington area but the third to be opened by Trudie Walker, a Lymm resident, Lymm High School governor and Ofsted Early Years inspector.
The other two are in Cuddington and Stockport and both are Ofsted “outstanding” and Montessori accredited.
The Lymm site has been undergoing extensive refurbishment – and part of this involves the disposal of a large quantity of toys and play equipment used by the previous nursery on the site.
There are slides, climbing frames, rockers, bikes, sand/water trays, chairs, tables, book boxes, benches, etc.
Trudie said: “They are mostly made of plastic which are not in keeping with the new nursery which will be equipped with high quality natural resources.
“But they are too good to throw away so I thought it would be a good idea to sell them for a good cause.”
Sealed bids will be invited for each item – and Holly Grange will be able to arrange local delivery.
There will also be a Jo-Jingles music and movement session, a Muddy Hands workshop and children will be asked to help name the nursery’s new chickens.
The event takes place from 10am to 12pm.
