WARRINGTON Town inflicted Spennymoor Town’s first away defeat of the

season with a 1-0 victory thanks to a sweet left foot strike from Louis

Corrigan midway through the first half in a tight encounter at the

Winner Recruitment Stadium.
The victory saw Shaun Reid’s men make it five games unbeaten ahead of a trip to Bamber Bridge on Tuesday evening followed by their FA Cup 2nd qualifying match at home to Sheffield FC next Saturday.
Warrington skipper David Mannix had an early chance after 3 minutes but fired over the bar.
The visitors were denied a great chance thanks to a fine reflex save from Karl Wills who saved a header from six yards out.
Then Corrigan struck on 22 minutes with a sweet left foot shot from outside the box into the bottom right hand corner of the net to give Warrington a lead they were never going to lose.
Both sides became frustrated in a stop start game which saw a total of seven bookings, five for Warrington and two for the visitors.
Spennymoor had the best of the second half chances but couldn’t find their way through a strong Warrington defence, with Wills again making a top save late on.
