CULCHETH High School student Lucca Chadwick-Patel has returned to school after a very hectic summer which included performing at the Proms.
As a member of the boys choir, Cambiata North West, Lucca went down to London for rehearsals at the National Theatre before appearing on stage at the Royal Albert Hall with Gareth Malone, the Military Wives Choir, Michael Morpurgo and the War Horse cast and puppets.
The concert was called the War Horse Prom and commemorated the anniversary of the outbreak of the First World War. It was broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and will be televised in November. The concert was really well received by the audience and Lucca described the whole experience as being his “best ever so far”!
Immediately after this success at the Proms Lucca returned to Manchester to rehearse with the Halle Youth Choir ready for their concert tour to Paris. They sang Durufles Requiem and four motets in cathedrals around Paris and the surrounding area of Chartres.
Lucca enjoys being part of both choirs and says that his singing experiences have really helped him grow and develop as an individual. He is committed to weekly rehearsals with the Halle Youth Choir who are already preparing for Christmas concerts at the Bridgewater Hall.
Lucca will also be performing in the High Schools production of Mamma Mia in December. He will play Sam Carmichael, the character made famous in the film by Pierce Brosnan.
