CHESHIRE Police are looking to appoint up to three additional people to join their Audit and Ethics Committee.
The committee provides independent assurance on the adequacy of risk management, financial controls, integrity and standards of service in Cheshire Constabulary and in the Office of the Police & Crime Commissioner.
Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, John Dwyer, and the Chief Constable Simon Byrne have recently widened the scope of the Audit Committee, which currently has four members, to cover police ethics and integrity.
The three new members must have a good understanding of the issues facing local Cheshire communities and the police and be able to scrutinise integrity and ethical matters.
John Dwyer said, “This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the wider policing family. I’m looking for individuals who have Cheshire’s community’s interests at heart, as this will enable them to scrutinise the force’s integrity and ethics. I look forward to welcoming the new members to the committee.”
Further details about the role, information pack and application form can be found at www.cheshire-pcc.gov.uk. If you wish to discuss the position informally contact Liz Lunn, Chief Finance Officer on 01606 364109.
The closing date for applications is 12noon on the 6 October 2014.
