Council launches new planning tool

WARRINGTON Borough Council’s planning team have launched a new online service allowing residents to find planning information quicker than ever.
The brand new online interactive mapping service allows people to search for information relating to planning applications including tree preservation orders, conservation areas, listed buildings, classified roads and public footpaths.
This new service also allows users to search for information via a map rather than using an address.
The tool provides residents with information about a local area too. Simply click on a house and find the nearest doctor, dentist, polling station, leisure centre and many more.
Cllr David Keane, executive board member for environment and public protection, said: “This service will allow residents to search for information quicker and easier than ever before. The new mapping tool will make it much easier for users to search for a location if they are unaware of the address and they can access it 24/7.
“As a council we are always looking for ways to improve our services and this is just one of the developments we have made for residents to easily access the information that’s available to them.”
