TWO men required treatment for smoke inhalation after fire broke out in the basement of a building at Warrington early today.
The blaze was at a property in Hanover Street and three fire engines – two from Warrington and one from Stockton Heath – were called to the scene.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reel jets to extinguish the flames.
An investigation by fire crews concluded the blaze had been caused by a discarded cigarette end.
The two men suffering from the effects of smoke were treated by paramedics.
