Call centre workers become weather girls

TWO call centre workers from Warrington who starred in the hit show Watermen: A Dirty Business are hitting the region’s TV screens for a second time.
Bubbly Vicki Lilliston, 25, from Great Sankey, and Lisa Robinson, 29, from Chapelford, are two of the “stars” chosen by United Utilities to help sponsor the ITV Granada and Border regional weather.
Lisa and Vicki appear in two films broadcast before and after the weather forecast.
United Utilities’ head of customer communications Anne Hobson said: “I think we’re all a bit obsessed with the weather here in the UK – it shapes our day and affects what we wear, how long it takes us to get to work and what we plan to do at the weekend.
“The weather is important to us too and we’re really pleased to continue our partnership with ITV. We hope our little films will give people a glimpse of the real people who are out, whatever the weather, keeping loos flushing and taps running for our 7m customers across the North West. They’ve have been great fun to make and Vicki and Lisas’ warmth and personality really shines through.”
It’s been a great experience for Vicki and Lisa too. Vicki now works in scheduling, sending real life watermen and women out to sort out sewer problems and help customers.
“It was good making Watermen but making the recordings for the weather was really fun. Lots of people saw the TV series and I got a few comments in the local pub, and a few drinks too.”
Vicky and Lisas’ film is one of a set of more than 20 which will feature employees from across the company.
