A TEMPORARY road closure involving Whittle Avenue and surrounding streets at Great Sankey, Warrington is to be extended by two weeks because of issues involving the contractors on site.
The original order made by Warrington Borough Council came into force on August 18 and was due to last for two weeks.
But now the council has made a further order, imposing the prohibition of driving for a further two weeks.
Roads affected are: Whittle Avenue – From its junction (roundabout) with Tankersley Grove to its junction with Burtonwood Road/Westbrook Way roundabout.
Westbrook Way – For its entire length.
Kingsdale Road – From its junction (roundabout) with Whittle Avenue for a distance of approximately 50 metres in a westerly direction.
Lingley Green Avenue – From its junction (roundabout) with Whittle Avenue for a distance of approximately 100 metres in a westerly direction.
Burtonwood Road – From its junction (roundabout) with Whittle Avenue to its junction with Kingswood Road.
Westbrook Crescent – From its junction (roundabout) with Westbrook Way for a distance of approximately 100 metres in a southerly direction.
Westbrook Crescent – From its junction (roundabout) with Westbrook Way for a distance of approximately 100 metres in a northerly direction.
The closures are required to allow the council to carry out highway maintenance works, including carriageway repairs and carriageway markings.
