Crematorium extension proposal

PLANNING chiefs at Warrington are to study proposals for extend the town Walton Lea Crematorium for a second time.
Proposes extensions that would increase the size of existing offices and the reception area at the crematorium were put to the borough planning committee last month – but a decision was deferred to enable more information to be provided.
The single-storey extension would increase the footprint of the building by 90 square metres – a modest extension, according to planning officers.
Although the site is within the Green Belt, the building is contained within mature woodland and cannot be seen from outside the grounds of the crematorium.
Officers say although the crematorium is set within the wider Walton Hall estate, there would be no significant impact on the estate, nor on the setting of Walton Hall and its associated gardens.
They are recommending the scheme be approved.
