TWO girls from Warrington have been ranked seventh in the World Street Dance championships at Glasgow.
Amina Houda, aged 13 and Izzy Webster, ated 12, from Appleton, have been street dancing for less than a year.
The twosome, who are pupils at AT Dance in Stockton Heath, have been studying ballet, tap and modern dancing for more than 10 years.
But they only took up street dancing just under a year ago and qualified for the World championships in a regional heat at Birmingham.
They were competing against 200 dancers from more than 30 countries.
More than 6,000 people were at the event.
Being placed seventh in the world is seen as a huge achievement.
Dance school principal Karen Speers said: “We are so proud of the girls. They have only just started competing this year and to achieve this award is amazing. They are not only talented dancers in street, but also in ballet, tap and modern and are a delight to teach.
“They have an amazing street coach and choreographer, Heidi Reading, who was herself also a world champion.”
Amina attends Bridgewater High School and Izzy attends The Grange school in Northwich.
