How patients make the NHS better

AN event focussing on examples of how patients have helped make the National Health Service better in Warrington is to be staged at the Orford Jubilee Hub on September 10.
The “Get Engaged” event is being organised by Warrington Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) – the NHS body with overall responsibility for health care in the borough.
A similar event was held in August and the aim is to encourage local people to get involved with the NHS.
A CCG spokesman said: “By taking part in consultations, volunteering, joining patient participation groups, and sharing experiences of health care, and more, people can really influence how services work.”
The event includes a market place, speakers, and then lunch.
“Get Engaged” is from 9.30am to 1.30pm and there will also be two official meetings in the afternoon which members of the public can attend.
They are Warrington CCG’s annual general meeting at 2pm and and a meeting of the CCG’s governing body at 3.30pm
More information, including applications for a stand in a “market place” can be obtained by emailing [email protected]
Dr Andy Davies, the chairman of Warrington CCG and also a local GP (pictured) said: “I’d love as many people to come along as possible because we want to put patients at the heart of everything we do.”
