New name for Age Concern Centre

0

A new name was announced for the Age Concern Centre in Jackson Avenue, Culcheth, at a fund-raising open day.
Sue Bland, Deputy Chairman, (pictured) announced that the Centre would now be called “The Culcheth Centre” rather than “Age Concern”. This was following a survey carried out in the village, where many people objected to the ”Age” in the old name.
Over 80 people attended, and members of the Committee were kept busy all afternoon serving the tea. A total of £291 was raised to help towards the costs of refurbishment.
Also in attendance were the Police, Trading Standards and Lifetime 50+, who organise activities throughout Warrington.
The Committee is now hoping to raise the profile of the Centre, and to let people know about the activities available. There is a list of activities, with contact numbers, in the foyer. Everyone will be made very welcome.
Anyone wanting more information, please contact Sue Bland on 766641.
