Shape up after summer

THE Stroke Association is encouraging people to shape up after summer and sign up to a 5k, 10k or 15k “Resolution Run” on Sunday October 5 at Victoria Park, Warrington.
Starting at 11am, this fun run will provide the perfect motivation to get fit after the summer holidays while raising vital funds for charity.
Annie Moran, events officer at the Stroke Association, said: “At least half of strokes could be prevented if people made simple lifestyle changes, such as keeping blood pressure under control and exercising more.
“We’re encouraging people in Warrington to get fit and take part in our Resolution Run, with friends, family or on their own. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned runner, we welcome participants of any ability and you can choose your own pace and distance.
“The event is now in its second year at Victoria Park. Last year we had over 170 runners and raised over £7,000. The money raised will fund vital research and support as well as help to prevent people in the North West from having a stroke.”
Registration for the Resolution Run begins at 9am with a 10.45am pre-run warm up and 11am start.
Entry fee is just £12.50 with a t-shirt or £15.00 with a technical running vest.
All runners will be provided with water and a medal to celebrate their achievement.
