Two in hospital after motorway pile-up

TWO people were taken to hospital after a five vehicle pile-up on the M62 near Warrington this morning.
Fire and rescue crews had to cut them from their badly damaged vehicles before paramedics could take them to hospital.
At least four cars were involved in the collision which completely closed the east bound carriageway of the motorway alth0ough by 9.30am police said the motorway was open again.
Even so, delays were expected to continue for some time and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
The crash occurred at Birchwood, between Junction 11 and Junction 12.
Fire crews from Warrington and Greater Manchester were involved in the operation.
