Man rescued from flat fire

A MAN was rescued from a smoke-filled flat at Warrington early this morning.
The blaze was at a ground floor flat at the Raven Court sheltered accommodation unit in Pepper Street, Lymm shortly after 6am.
Crews rescued the man and then four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using two hose reel jets.
A thermal imaging camera was used to check for further hot spots of fire and a high pressure fan used to disperse smoke. Utilities to all the flats in the building were isolated and all residents were checked by the ambulance service as a precaution against smoke inhalation.
The cause of the fire was found to be accidental.
