Dancers selected for Challenge Cup final

DANCERS from across the country, including Warrington, have been selected to perform at Wembley Stadium for this year’s Challenge Cup Final.
Following the success of last year’s Window on Warrington (WoW) project, Culture Warrington’ in partnership with Wolves Foundation have received Arts Council funding to develop this new performance project.
Phoenix Dance Theatre, one of Britain’s leading contemporary dance companies, will be joining the selected participants over an intense week to create material for the performance.
The internationally renowned dance company from Yorkshire will work with the participants at the Pyramid, Warrington from August 11–15 before their performance with other dancers selected from other parts of the UK.
Last year saw more than 500 dancers of different abilities from ages 3–87 perform to an international crowd of 4,000 in Warrington Town Centre celebrating hosting Samoa for last year’s Rugby League World Cup.
The dancers will perform in front of 80,000 rugby fans on the August 23 at Wembley Stadium.
