Man arrested after cross-border police operation

A MAN has been arrested in Warrington on suspicion of multiple driving offences after police received a report of a car being driven erratically on the M6 in the early hours of today.
The incident began shortly before 2am in Staffordshire, close to junction 15 northbound. The vehicle failed to stop for officers from the Central Motorway Patrol Group who alerted colleagues from the North West Motorway Police Group.
Cheshire Police officers followed the vehicle which exited at junction 20 on to the A50 before eventually stopping in Brackenwood Mews, Grappenhall.
An 18-year-old man from the Banbury area has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop for police and drink driving.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
