Crematorium extension planned

EXTENSIONS that would increase the size of existing offices and the reception area at Warrington’s Walton Lea Crematorium are to be put to borough planning chiefs.
The single-storey extension will increase the footprint of the building by 90 square metres – a modest extension, according to planning officers.
Although the site is within the Green Belt, the building is contained within mature woodland and cannot be seen from outside the grounds of the crematorium.
Officers say although the crematorium is set within the wider Walton Hall estate, there would be no significant impact on the estate, nor on the setting of Walton Hall and its associated gardens.
They are recommending the scheme be approved.
