EXISTING mobile phone masts at two sites in the Penketh area of Warrington will be replaced by higher installations, if plans put to the borough’s planning committee area given the go-ahead.
One proposal is to replace an existing 11.8m high mast, bearing three antenna with a 15m column supporting six antenna in Warrington Road, Penketh.
The second plan involves replacing a 13.8m high column supporting three antenna with a 17.5m high column supporting six antenna on a grass verge alongside the A562 Widnes Road, at its junction with Farnworth Road, Penketh.
Both applications are from Cornerstone Telecommunications Ltd and will be considered by the committee next week.
They will enable telecommunications giants Vodafone and Telefonica to provide increased coverage, enable the introduction of 4G technology into their networks.
No objections have been received from nearby residents.
