Girl, 13, fights off sex attacker

A 13-year-old girl fought of a sex fiend who assaulted her in a Warrington park.
The offender ran off after a scuffle in Sankey Valley Park near the footbridge over Sankey Way, close to Cromwell Avenue.
Police are looking for a man aged in his late 20s, about 5ft 8 inches tall and of skinny build.
He had short black hair and dark coloured glasses and was wearing a dark tracksuit.
The attack took place at about 2.20pm on Wednesday when the girl was walking near the footbridge.
The man stood with his back to her, blocking the footpath, and as she attempted to pass her grabbed her by the wrist. He exposed himself to her.
DC Richard Kennedy of Warrington CID said: “The victim was understandably very upset by the incident. Fortunately she was not injured and is now receiving support from officers and her family.
“We are carrying out a number of enquiries in the area in a bid to trace the offender responsible and are appealing to local people who may have information which could assist with our enquiries.
“There were a number of people in the park at the time the incident took place. I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or who was in the area at the time and may have seen the man described to contact us.”
