SPORTS clubs and teams in Warrington are being urged to put in their bids for a chance to win £500 for their organisations.
The popular Summer of Sport initiative organised by house builder Miller Homes is now underway – and the closing date for applications is September 15.
Clubs and organisations simply have to pick up an applications from a Miller Homes development.
To be in with a chance of winning, entrants have to say in no more than 200 words why their sports club deserves to win the money, how it will benefit the club and what the money will be spent on.
Regional sales manager Sam Johnson said: “We think it is important to support local communities and as 2014 has been a busy year for sport with the World Cup, Wimbledon and the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, we felt it was the perfect opportunity to run the Summer of Sport competition.
“We have run the competition for three consecutive years and encourage all sports clubs and teams in the area to enter. Our judges will be looking for examples on how the clubs will make the most of our
£500 donation and we wish everyone the very best of luck.”
Details of the initiative have been distributed to sports clubs and associations at a local level, however community leaders and club managers can still pick up an entry form at any one of Miller Homes’ marketing suites.
In Warrington, the company are building at Barley Green, Kingswood.
