Fire in historic woodland

FIRE broke out in historic woodland at Warrington – and youths are believed to have been responsible.
An old tree was left ablaze and two fire engines from Warrington Fire Station were called to the scene in The Dingle, off Dingle Lane, Appleton.
A hose extension was required because of the remote location of the site.
Afterwards, firefighters placed a cordon around the tree as it was believed to be unstable.
It is believed youths playing with matches had started the blaze.
