Motorist dies after motorway crash

A MOTORIST has died following a crash which resulted in a section of

the M62 at Warrington, between Burtonwood and Winwick being closed

earlier today.
The collision, involving two vehicles, occurred at approximately 3.30pm between junction 8, Burtonwood, and junction 9 at Winwick.
One person, a 58-year-old male, was taken to hospital, but has sadly died.
Although the motorway has partially re-opened officers have warned that there are still delays in the local area, and motorists are advised to avoid the area if possible.
