School plans given the go-ahead

PLANNING chiefs have given the go-ahead for internal alterations to the existing main entrance at Winwick CE Primary School in Myddleton Lane.
The development will provide a secure lobby area and introduce a flat roofed canopy.
Members of the borough council’s planning committee were told the scheme would provide additional space to provide a room for reception and a separate room for the head teacher.
The school is set at a higher level than Myddleton Lane and the scheme will include the creation of a new footpath connection between the back of the pavement and the existing footpath within the school grounds to facilitate wheelchair access.
Older parts of Winwick CE Primary are a Locally Listed building.
