Rain fails to dampen spirits at Stretton Walking Day

TORRENTIAL rain failed to dampen spirits at the annual Stretton Walking Day as villagers put on a brolly good show during the annual walk of witness.
Ten-year-old Ellen Osborne was crowned Rose Queen (pictured above) during a church service at St Matthews’ Church in the village, taking over from retiring queen Olivia Rudd, aged 11 (pictured below).
Villagers then went on a walk of witness, armed with their brollies, followed by a school fete at St Matthews’ Priumary School, where special guests included Wolfie from Warrington Wolves.
