Rap singer releases new album

UP-and-coming rap singer Bradley Gleave – also known as Spokes – from Great Sankey, has released an album: “Don’t Diss my Ability” which is on sale at the Head music store in Warrington.
Brad was diagnosed with cerebral palsy at the age of two but now sees himself as “differently-abled” rather than disabled.
He started listening to rap when he was 10 and found a release through the music, feeling he was able to relate to the messages within the tracks.
At 14 he started writing his own material and at 17 his dad, Wayne, pushed him to start recording at a local studio.
He uploaded a couple of tracks to YouTube which met with considerable success.
After meeting local rap artist and producer Dave McFadden, from Orford – also known as Evila – they started making tracks together and eventually came up with “Don’t Diss my Ability.”
Dave also set up a company in which MC’s battle against each other and Brad took part – resulting in an appearance on BBC Three.
Now he is hoping for an appearance on BBC Radio 1.
Brad thanks his Mum and Dad – Jean and Wayne – Dave McFadden and various others involved in the local rap music scene.
“Without their support I wouldn’t have got anywhere,” he said.
He says the album is about himself, his therapy, his diary and issues in his life.
“Everyone has issues in their lives and they use these problems as boundaries to stop them from moving forward in life.
“Now you can either sit on your bum and do nothing or you can choose to push through those boundaries and turn what you perceived as a weakness into a strength.
“But only you as the individual can do that if you have a dream.”
