Swanning around on the A56

YOU’VE heard of a Zebra Crossing – and even a Pelican Crossing. But how about a Swan Crossing?
This was the scene on the A56 in Lymm as two swans and their cygnets crossed the road near Lymm Dam.
Traffic was held up – but there was no road rage. Everyone wanted to see the swan family safely across the road.
The picture was taken by reader Jon Valentine on his way to work from his home in Thelwall.
Later, the swans, having apparently acquired another offspring and relishing the attention they were getting, set off in the other direction – possible intending a visit to the Church Green pub.
They were photographed by another reader, Matt Precious.
