A BUSY town centre road at Warrington has been closed to traffic because of a major fault involving a power line.
The emergency closure of Froghall Lane is likely to last for five days, a Town Hall spokeswoman said today.
Scottish Power engineers are working to repair the fault on an 11kv cable under a railway bridge
The closure effects Froghall Lane between Midland Way and Bewsey Road, although traffic is able to access Froghall Lane from the Bewsey Road junction.
Through traffic is being diverted along Midland Way, Lythgoes Lane, Pinners Brow and Tanners Lane and vice versa.
The borough council says updates will be provided if the duration of the closure changes.
